The
Health Care Ministry was founded in 1984 by Princeton
Council 636 of the Knights of Columbus and Sister
Ancilla of the Sisters of Mercy. These founders had the
vision that providing simple, supportive services to the
elderly could make the difference between them remaining
in their homes or having to move to a nursing home. In
1989, the Health Care Ministry was incorporated as a
501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the Health Care
Ministry of St. Paul’s, Inc.
In 2006 we adopted the name
Health Care Ministry of Princeton, reflecting the area
we serve. The organization is governed by a Board of
Trustees. The staff has always been small. A group of 50 volunteers provides a core resource for enabling
the Health Care Ministry to fulfill its mission. Numbers
of volunteers and clients continue to grow, reflecting
the continued demand for our services.
